When is my credit card charged?

Your credit card will only be charged when you send money to someone and the amount you are sending is greater than the balance in your PayPal account. When there are not enough funds in your PayPal account balance, or you would like to complete the payment with an alternate funding option, the payment may be funded via credit card or, if you have added a bank account, via eCheck or Instant Transfer.
